Astrology of The Class of 2027
Have you ever noticed that each class has a personality of its own? Have you ever wondered why?
Astrology’s answer lies in the North Node and South Node of the chart. These nodes refer to the two mathematically precise places where the moon’s orbital path crosses the ecliptic – the sun’s apparent path through our sky. It’s the point where eclipses occur. Because these nodes change every 18 months, most students in a single graduating class will share their placement.
In astrology, the North Node shows us the areas in our lives we are meant to move toward, to integrate and to lean into. The South Node shows us what we have already mastered and what we may need to consciously move away from (because it points to our default behavior and choices).

For the most part, the Class of 2027 shares a North Node in Aquarius and a South Node in Leo. Anyone born between December 18, 2007 and August 21, 2009 will share these placements. Students with later birthdays for their class may have North Node in Capricorn and South Node in Cancer.
So, what story do these nodal placements offer about the Class of 2027 as a collective?
In short – this group deeply desires to connect with others. They care deeply about the greater good and are moved to act in service of Humanitarian causes. They are uniquely positioned to use their voices to get us all thinking “bigger” and to find outside-the-box solutions to problems. On the flip side of the coin, they may stubbornly fall prey to an “I know best” attitude and get lost in group drama.
As a group, these students naturally are looking to integrate Aquarian energy into their life paths. That means, they are primed to orient themselves toward the collective. They are drawn toward humanitarian causes and “win” whenever they move into roles that allow them to serve the collective, participate in groups and share big ideas that may be unconventional. As counselors, you may find this group is at its best when they’ve embraced these collective values. As counselors, you can guide students toward these Humanitarian and perhaps unconventional mindsets and choices with confidence. When they tap into these areas and mindsets, this group will find their stride!
Their South Node in Leo points to the energy they have already mastered, so much so they “default” toward its lower energies. Leo is a sign of courage and heart. Its energy is that of magnetic leadership and individuality. In its lower energies, it can mean stubbornness, the need for approval, a tendency toward melodrama and pridefulness – qualities you may have observed in this group. Nudging this group toward the higher energies of Aquarius – Humanitarian causes, collaborative work, and communicating and exploring unconventional big ideas – is the perfect antidote to this group that has a tendency to be set in their own way. So have confidence in knowing that pushing them toward participation in clubs, organized community engagement events, or leaning into those groups projects will produce positive results in their lives.
Currently, this group is going through what’s known in astrology as a “nodal return.” On July 26, 2026, the lunar nodes returned to the same position – North Node in Aquarius, South Node in Leo – as when they were born. During this time, it’s common for people to experience “supercharged” transformations, particularly in terms of clarity around future goals and paths.
