Disrupt the Status Quo with Virgo Guides

As college counselors, I know many of us head into fall ready to roll up our sleeves with the senior class. It’s officially our busy season and we have hundreds of senior college applications to support.

While we brace for the busy season with our seniors, the fall also invites us to refresh our practices as we renew our commitment to the work with a fresh group of juniors. With them, we are able to begin again. We can set a positive tone and establish the foundations of trusting relationships.

As we build these relationships and guide students, I think we all come with the high and pure intentions of helping students make grounded choices that will serve them best. Too often though we see these choices misinformed, rushed and optimized for prestige.

Virgo Guides in many ways is my creative act of rebellion against the status quo. At the end of the day, the student is the only person who really knows who they are. But sometimes they lose sight of it – the world is just so loud and the messages out there about college can be really confusing.

Every feature of Virgo Guides is designed to keep students – not parents, not the U.S. News & World Report, not their peers – at the center of their college process.

No two students are the same. Through the natal chart, the counselor can consider and shine a light on a student as an individual. From supporting them through a work plan that works best for them to thinking about their personal statement and college list, counselors are in a privileged and unique position to turn the conversation at every corner back to the student.

Astrology itself is nothing new. It’s an ancient system that has been largely dismissed in the modern era. But it’s finding its way, more and more, into the mainstream. You don’t have to “believe in” astrology for Virgo Guides to help you do that.

With the sudden rise of AI, education (K-12 and higher ed) is in uncharted territory. Every educator I know is considering responsible and ethical use of AI. Virgo Guides distinguishes itself from ChatGPT because it’s using its own expertly sourced data – a book written by a seasoned professional college counselor and serious student of astrology.

Virgo Guides invites you to be a counselor who sees this moment of uncertainty as an invitation to explore, to wonder, to get more curious and open than you have before. And to do all of these things, as always, as a grounded and reflective college counselor who deeply understands that our work begins and ends with an individual human.
